LRAS is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization focused on community building within the city of Langford. The association is member driven and regulated by the BC Societies Act through registered bylaws (found under the "Documents" tab)
LRAS was formed in mid 2023.
Jeff Byam is a retired 38 year veteran of the RCAF and a strong believer in community and community involvement. His military aviation career allowed him to travel to, and gain perspective from, communities all over Canada and around the globe. He has lived in Langford for a total of 24 years and is married with two grown daughters. Within the community, he has volunteered with numerous organizations including: Goldstream Food Bank, Air Cadets, Juan de Fuca Soccer, School PAC, SD62 planning council, Cops for Cancer, CIBC Run for the Cure and West Shore Block Parents.

Lucy Solomons has lived in Langford for 5 years. She is a local teacher and mom of 2 kids who both attend school in Langford. She is interested in projects that focus on developing services and facilities for young people in our city and also that bring people together as a community.

Jennie Nilsson has been a resident of Langford since 2017, with significant involvement in local school parent advisory councils. Jennie served as vice-president at David Cameron Elementary, President at Pexsisen Elementary, and was also elected to and served for a year on the district-wide parent advisory council. Jennie holds a Master of Education in Leadership from University of Victoria and her professional background is in experiential learning, career education, and supporting post-secondary students to gain skills for the labour market. Jennie also spent ten years as a youth coach and has significant professional and volunteer experience in event planning and fundraising.

Marie has been resident of the Westshore for 15 years. She brings with her a wealth of community insight and dedication, with extensive experience in the fields of addictions and mental health. She's deeply committed to supporting individuals facing complex challenges. As a mother of two daughters, Marie's community involvement goes beyond her professional endeavors. Serving eight years on the parent advisory committee, including two terms as president, she's demonstrated leadership and advocacy for children's welfare. Recently, Marie has discovered a newfound passion for coaching her kids' fastball team, further exemplifying her commitment to nurturing and empowering young minds in her community.
